We invite you to the Summer Camp for International Students and PhD Students:
Grow with Copernicus – Summer Camp at NCU
July 10th-28th, 2023
- 3 weeks of learning, discovering and spending time together in an international student group – ONE week online, TWO weeks in Toruń
- classes conducted in English by the professional staff of many departments of the NCU in Toruń
- interesting curriculum in three specialist modules to choose from
- attractive cultural program
- guaranteed free accommodation, meals, city transport in Toruń
- certificate of completion of the course and 6 ECTS points
The participation is completely FREE OF CHARGE, financed by NAWA funds.

Grow with Copernicus – Summer Camp at NCU is a 3-week Summer school for foreign students and foreign PhD students conducted in English in the form of blended-learning, with participants divided into 3 groups in terms of participation in specialized modules and a joint cultural program.

3 specialist modules
Candidates are enrolled in one of the three specialist modules related to their interests and field of study:
- HUMANITIES (e.g. for students of History, Conservation of Monuments, History of Art, Theology, Cultural Studies, Fine Arts, Philology)
- SOCIAL SCIENCES (e.g. for students of Law, Administration, Economy, Management, Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, Psychology, Socio-Economic Geography, Internal Security)
- EXACT AND NATURAL SCIENCES (e.g. for students of Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Mathematics, Computer Science, Geography, Biology, Veterinary Science).
Every participant takes part in:
- one of the three modules – academic classes conducted by specialists in a given field – 40 academic hours in total for 3 weeks, first classes online (1st week), then classes in the buildings of various departments of the NCU in Toruń (2nd and 3rd week);
- additional attractions "MY SPECIALIZATION TRIPS" – those activities take place outside the main didactic program and present Poland as an attractive place of educational, scientific and research opportunities; we offer various attractions depending on the specifics of a given module, including sightseeing, shows, meetings, a trip outside Toruń.
Cultural module and cultural program
Additionally, all participants take part all together in:
- the cultural module classes (online, 1st week, 20 academic hours):
In the world of Polish literature, music, film and contemporary art
- the cultural program (2nd and 3rd week):
Outside the classroom: culture and integration,
including activities such as: sightseeing Toruń and the University, a bonfire and Polish songs meeting, visiting museums and galleries, workshops, a city game, a 1-day trip outside Toruń.
Accommodation, catering, transport, ISIC
Participants will be accommodated in the NCU dormitories. They can choose a single or double room with a bathroom in a room / segment and with access to the Internet, kitchen and laundry.
Participants will be guaranteed full board. They will eat breakfast and lunch together near the accommodation and will also receive a scholarship for dinner.
Participants will receive tickets for the city transport in Toruń and International Student Identity Card (ISIC).
PLEASE NOTE: The participant covers the costs of travel to and from Toruń.
PLEASE NOTE: If during the period of July 15th-29th, 2023 your accommodation or meals are already being paid by the European Union or Polish Ministry, you must cover your accommodation and/or you will not receive a dinner grant. ECTS points and certificate
After completing the Summer Camp, the participant will receive a certificate and 6 ECTS credit points.
Please NOTE that the University does not mediate in obtaining an entry visa to Poland. The document confirming admission to the Summer Camp can be sent to the participant as a pdf file by e-mail or collected personally at the Faculty of Humanities at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Fosa Staromiejska 3, room 110). We do not send documents by post abroad.
Please note that while staying at the Summer Camp in Poland you must have health insurance (medical expense insurance). Please purchase such insurance and carry with you information on how to use it.
Candidate must have a student/PhD student status during the Summer Camp (until July 28th, 2023).
You can only participate once in the project Let’s meet at NCU! So, if you have participated in our Summer Camp Learn, discover, enjoy – Summer Camp at NCU (July 4th-22nd, 2022) or in the Winter Camp Interdisciplinarity in research – Winter Camp at NCU (February 20th-24th, 2023), you cannot participate in the Summer Camp 2023.
